First run of XC training today. Started out with an easy 5 miles on grass at Sugarhouse Park where the state course is. About an 8 minute mile pace which was hard for some reason. I think it was because I was on thick grass the whole time and it is my first run back from a break. The total time was 41:34. Stretching before and after.

Today I ran at the Woods Cross practice. I did a dynamic warmup before the run. I went 5 miles at a 7:20 mile pace. It was an out and back from WX to the Bountiful Post Office. The total time was 36:30. After the workout I stretched and did stride-outs. 

Later at about 9pm I did an easy 3 miles around the golf course by my house. I tried to stay on the grass as much as possible so I could recover and not have heavy legs. My pace was around an 8 minute mile pace; same as my run on monday where it was harder to run on the soft grass. The total time was 24:38. My knee was hurting a little at the beginning but it got better as the run went on.

Today I did a workout at Sugarhouse Park. I warmed up for two miles on the grass and then did a two mile workout at a 6:05 mile pace. Towards the end of the workout my left knee started to hurt a little bit so I wasn't able to do all of the cool down. Afterwards I iced my knee so it would be better for tomorrow.

Today I went on my long run with my brother Andrew. I was supposed to go 8 miles but after mile 4 my knee started to hurt so I had to stop at six miles. I went back home and ran the other two miles on the tredmill for a total of 8 miles. My overall pace was 7:40.
